Ever feel like some people just make sense? Alexandria and Austin DEFINITELY make sense together. I first met them when I photographed their engagement session at sekrit theatre. They were honestly adorable. Austin was quiet but his PERSONALITY shined through in small moments. Their wedding was held at the BEAUTIFUL Winnfield Inn in Kyle, TExas. It was a first time visit for me and felt so intimate, but had plenty of space for a full sized wedding. It’s a historic home, nestled literally right in the city of Kyle. It was the perfect venue for these two. Alexandria is a book girl, so the library was a dream spot to photograph some of her very quick bridals (we were running out of time before the ceremony, so these were done so quick but they were perfect) I even brought them back in the library for some intimate couples portraits. The weather was a perfect fall day, which we don’t get lucky enough with here in texas. They exchanged private vows after the traditional ceremony at the end of their portraits and it was so beautiful to witness. Honestly? I am forever honored that I get the opportunity to stand witness to some moments no one except the couple will be able to witness. It reminds me how precious and intimate my job truly is. If you’ve been around long enough, you know I would not consider myself a busy “wedding” photographer. For so much of my career, I was balancing motherhood during a time when we DIDN’T live near family, to then single MOTHERHOOD where finding child care for a full day during weekends was difficult. My career has shifted through motherhood and life and so now that I am in a place where weddings are a easy yes, my goal is to take on more weddings. So if you know someone, I have a girl 😉 (me, I’m your girl).
Anyways, back to alexandria and austin. They had the most personal touches to their details on their day. From the marvel lego figure BOUTONNIERES to the hair clips in Alexandrias hair, to the card game on their welcome table custom to their ENGAGEMENT photos. to their wedding “cake” or should I say, cookie cake because that was more their vibe and I’m here to tell you, you can toss the cake if you aren’t a cake person. it’s your day. all though, I do love a good slice of cake in between snapping photos of the dance floor!
